Information about Korea.

These days, I have been so busy that

I can't write down as many scripts as I used to. I'd appreciate your kind understanding in this.
I made those scripts for people who are interested in traveling to or moving to Korea.

1. I don’t know about your country, but Korea is a safe country and its security from external threats is tight. Of course, there are some weird people in Korea (I think this is universal). However, it is safe that you can hang out anywhere with your friends at night and many people have done so.

2. In Korea, many people use 전세 (Jeonse : Key Money/Security Deposit) to rent a house or apartment. For your information, 월세(monthly rent) and 전세(Jeonse) are different. If you are going to live in Korea, I recommend that you search on Google first what Jeonse is.

3. We don’t have the culture of giving tips at restaurants. When I was younger and worked at a restaurant for a part time job, I saw some foreigners who left money on the table after dinner. However, you don’t need to do that in Korea. If you really want to do it, you can send me the tips instead😉

4. Hospital expenses are very cheap in Korea thanks to medical insurance. If you are looking for a job or an international student, you must seek information about this.

5. Many people seem to have a fantasy about Korean men through BTS or K-dramas. Nonetheless, if you come to Korea, you will see more of Bam's face like a squid rather than your 오빠들 looking like BTS members.

6. Recently, TOPIK tests seem to be more important. I recommend this test because it can surely improve your vocabulary and grammar.

Wow that’s amazing! The idea of going out at night without being followed or being in complete danger sounds like a fantasy to me because here in America, it’s the exact opposite...

Korea is not safe at night for women. Especially foreign women. I wish people would stop spreading this idea. It's safER than some countries, but honestly not that safe.

@atonement Yeahh, i heard a women’s story about being sexually harassed in the train and because she’s a foreigner she can’t attack or fight back. Because you would get sent back to your country 😓

@atonement Thank for your comment, but that's why I said "THERE are some WEIRD people (I think this is UNIVERSAL)" to prevent generalization. I want to stress that the security rate is high. It's not that no accidents will happen until you die your whole life. For your information, you or I may be hit by a car while walking on the sidewalk tomorrow. But this does not mean that walking on the sidewalk is not safe. Life is like quantum mechanics, and there is no such thing as a perfect theory being produced in reality. Some people can have good experince or some people can not here.

That’s really good informations.. I know how it is as a tourist country and don’t know if u have to give a tip or how u have to give it.. I made different experiences😂 about safety, I hear different things. So as you say it’s Universal.

아이고... Many youngers don't realize that dramas have not only show stars and co stars, but there are lots of other people, secondary actors, extras, common people passing by... And they don't look as models. So, drama do show common korean men and women, watchers decide don't look at them 🤷🏽‍♀️ It's the same everywhere, here is plenty of hot men, but not every single man 😂 And.. hot men usually like hot women, everywhere. Why should they do anything different?

I've seen Korean walking videos and the general population looks thinner, better dressed, and generally more hygienenic than the people here. Not sure if true but here many people in public are very large, poorly dressed and can look dirty, perhaps due to homelessness, drugs or substance abuse.
