Raw Chocolate Cake

I made a raw, vegan 🌱”cheesecake

” 🎂 this weekend to profess my love for chocolate 🍫 😋. The crust is made from raw almonds, pistachios, Brazil nuts, oats and dates. The filling is cashew-based, with some raw cacao blended in.

I decorated the cake with a raw brownie, a raw Oreo (chocolate sandwich cookie), raw donuts, raw truffle balls and raw homemade chocolates. I made the chocolates using a mold.

    @jane Yes, soy and almond is famous in Japan. Some of them tasted different way like banana, chocolate,green tea... It’s for easier to drink:) But I don’t know another kind of milk. Most of people drinks only dairy milk.

    @mayu Besides soy and almond milk, are there other types of non-dairy milk in Japan? I have seen soy and almond milks at Japanese supermarkets. 😊

    @mayu When we say “the bomb” we refer to things that are very cool! It could refer to food, an activity, a person or a place! I think ramen 🍜 is the bomb! It’s so delicious. 😋 I love soy milk too. I can’t eat dairy so I rely on non-dairy milk substitutes. Soy, almond, oat, rice and hemp milk are my favorites!

    @jane The bumb!! I didn’t know that:) Is it mean only chocolate milk or use the word for every amazing food? You drink healthy way:) I like soy milk!

    @mayu OMG. Hot chocolate is, as we say in America, “the bomb!” That means it’s so good! I like to make hot chocolate using oat milk, almond milk or soy milk. 😋

    @jane Not yet. I guess I would go abroad if I was in my 40's or late 30's. I'd love to visit San Francisco when get a chance.

    @mayu I see. 😊 You can never go wrong with chocolate! Studies show that you should eat a certain amount of chocolate everyday because it’s good for your heart! Have you ever tried “hot chocolate” drink?

    @jane yeap. I don't know much about American cakes. But maybe I can travel to US to taste one several years later if possible. I'd like to expect your next masterpiece.

    @jane Nobody hates chocolate:) It’s depends on how I eat.Chocolate itself I like milk,but for drink or cookies and cakes I prefer dark one:)

    @williamy Awesome! I can only find those cakes in Asian markets in the United States. Asian cakes are like “sponge” cakes and are softer, lighter and less sweet. They also contain fruits. They are better tasting than American cakes. 😊

    @mayu Haha! Thank you, Mayu! I don’t know anyone who dislikes chocolate. I am so happy dark chocolate (my favorite) is actually healthy! Do you prefer dark chocolate, milk chocolate or white chocolate? 😊

    @jane I don't know how to make chocolate cookies or cakes, that's something I could learn from you. I buy chocolate bars from grocery stores to satisfy my appetite.

    @williamy Thank you, William! This is a “just because” cake. That means it’s not for a special occasion. I was just craving chocolate and wanted to indulge. 😂 What are your favorite chocolate treats?

    @jane Sure I like chocolate, I have a sweet tooth. This cheese cake appeared to me as a beautiful gourmet is a feast to my eyes. Is it for birthday or occassional eating?

    @Kei Saito My friend from Shizuoka actually stopped using Hello Talk a couple of months after we met. However, we kept in touch outside of the app. I am also Facebook friends with a couple of my Hello Talk friends as well! I’ll be back in Japan next year. Let’s meet up!

Your friend is lucky to have a local friend like you so he can have an even more enjoyable experience in Japan. 😊I have a Hello Talk friend from Shizuoka Prefecture and we have met twice. She always meets me in Tokyo and we always spend the day visiting places neither of us have visited before so it’s new for the both of us. 😀 Last time, we went to Roppongi and Sky Tree !
