こうえんまでやく850km、いちにち-がかりです。- It is about 850km to the park, it
takes all day.*can you say it that way?
I never finished with my trip report to Yellowstone National Park last August. Let's continue the story...
🔸️Day 8, Part 2:
We are on the west side of the park and today's plan is to visit several geyser basins before going all the way north in search of wildlife. Next up was Midway Geyser Basin. This is probably the most spectacular of all basins in the park. It contains the very deep Grand Prismatic Hot Spring (photo 4-7), which is simply breathtaking with its many colors and rising steam. Excelsior Geyser (photo 2 and 3) is also very impressive with its huge crater and you can feel the heat of the steam on your own skin, especially when the breeze blows it in your direction.
This was the most crowded of all areas, but we could not miss it. You can just stand there and take it all in, feel the power of the elements - for quite a long time...
You can see it in the pictures, this is when the visibility was really getting reduced from all the smoke coming from wildfires in the west. More about that later, though.
Just down the road was Biscuit Basin. We spent more time there and went for a hike, but this chapter will have to wait for another day, as I am at the nine photo limit for this post, already agonizing which pictures to select.
To be continued...
