Good morning 🌞😃☀️
Mardi Gras, French for "Fat Tuesday," refers
to a series of feasts held the day before Ash Wednesday. Why do people get "fat" on this Tuesday? Because it is the last day before the Christian Lenten period, when people would traditionally fast and give up certain foods or behaviors. In some parts of the world, Mardi Gras is known as Carnival. It is typically a celebration of excesses, with lots of music, dancing, and food.
The most famous Mardi Gras celebration in the United States is held in New Orleans, Louisiana. Usually, there’s a big parade and party every year but because of the pandemic it is cancelled. This year, people are decorating their houses.
