    @tom I heard, that the Volgograd one is a part of Sword monuments series. First one is located in Magnigorsk and it demonstrates a worker giving the sword to a soldier, then this one, and the final one is set in Berlin

    @Dmitriy not sure Dimitriy, I remember hearing it was very symbolic because of Stalin’s name attached to the city? Is this true?

    @tom the main purpose of hitler was oil. There were two armies. On of them went to Iran, another to Stalingrad. If Hitler took Stalingrad he opened the way to Iran. You can check on the map. There are not big cities on the East from volgograd. The second point. There were A great stock of oil in Baku (Azerbaijani). Oil was transported to center of Russia across the Volga. So, if he had cut this trip, all Russian tanks would have stopped and Hitler have won. So he wasn’t interested in Moscow at all. The main purpose to win world was Stalingrad.
