I see many of you trying to use informal language in your posts
because you think it makes you sound more like a native speaker. The problem is that you’re making mistakes with the informal language too. It takes time to know when and how to use informal language. My recommendation is to master the basics of standard English FIRST, before you try to use slang and other informal language. I think many of you negatively impact your learning for the sake of trying to sound informal and it’s really not that important. Sounding informal should not be a priority. It’s MORE important to speak and write correctly, even if you sound formal. You’ll have plenty of time to experiment with more informal language once you’re more comfortable with English overall.
