我的很多学生问我这样的问题：

“老师，“酸菜鱼”用英语

怎么说？”
“老师，”代驾“用英语怎么表达“？

事实上，与其想翻译成英语、有时候不如说中文的单词, 因为有些东西/事情西方人对它们不熟悉. 宁愿说中文单词，然后等别人问你“这是什么？” 然后你可以给他们解释， 也不说中式英语/奇怪/不正常用的单词，因为你很可能使别人困惑. 比如说：

“Hello jack”

“Hey! How are you? What did you eat for lunch?”

“Oh, I had a steamed pork bun and sour pickle vegetable fish.”

“What?!?!?”

“哦，啊啊啊，哎哟”

Better to say:

“Hey jack!“

“Hey 小王！what did you eat for breakfast?”

“Oh I had a baozi (包子) and 酸菜鱼”

“Oh! What’s that?”

“It’s a type of Chinese breakfast food - a special kind of bread with different things inside like pork, vegetables or other things. And the other one is fish in a special kind of soup, with Chinese pickled vegetables in it. It’s really nice!”

“Oh, sounds cool! Maybe we can go there together next time so I can try them!”

“Yeah!”

今天我吃了“albondingas” 是一个来自西班牙的菜，好像肉丸一样. 你可以试一试！ notice I didn’t translate it :)

这样子，不但你的朋友更了解你的意思，而且你可以解释得更清楚. :) 有些菜西方的国家没有，还有西方也有几个中国没有的东西. 想翻译这些单词也许导致问题. 希望我的建议帮助你们！❤❤
