Phrasal Verb of the Day

go off

Meaning: If something goes off

, it stops working because of a power cut.

For example:
1. Some power lines came down during the storm and all our lights suddenly went off.

2. My new computer has batteries that will save my work if the power goes off in a blackout.

Qoute:
No power on earth can stop an idea whose time has come. -Manmohan Singh.

I have a doubt, is it also correct if I say “our lights suddenly went out” instead of “our lights went off”? 🧐
