「don’t」と「can’t」は同様している意味を持ってい

ますがニュアンスが違います。

「don’t」を書く時に、行動をしないと決めている意味です。理由には、やる気がなくて、またはできないことは両方可能です。理由はどうであれ、実際にその行動をしません。

「can’t」を書く時に、行動はやりたくてもできない意味です。やりたい可能性もあり、やりたくない可能性もあります。気持ちはどうであれ、実際はその行動はできません。

「I can’t travel overseas during my holidays. The flights are too expensive. 」
「I don’t travel overseas during my holidays. I prefer to stay at home and relax. 」

例
「The Japanese government doesn’t spend a lot of money on robot research. It’s more interested in helping to fund new small businesses. 」
「The Japanese government can’t spend a lot of money on robot research. It needs to spend its money on more immediate problems like the lack of elderly care. 」
