It was once again

a lovely day in the mountains yesterday. I packed up the skis and lunch and headed up to a different trail than last time. It had been snowing lightly the day before so I was hoping for some fresh powder. I was surprised to find quite a lot of people in the area enjoying the sun. Most were just walking or snowshoeing, but I encountered a handful of skiers as well. It's clear the days of the pandemic are bringing out more people outside, year-round.

As you can see in the photos, there was not a cloud in the sky! This is quintessential Colorado, like taken from a picture book! It was definitely not warm though, somewhere around -6°C and a slight breeze made it feel pretty chilly. Once you start moving though you don't notice the cold.

What was really beautiful, under the trees, when a little stronger wind came up, the snow would fly from the tree branches and create a little magic with the bright sun shining! Those are the little moments I live for. There seems to be not much else, after all. I wish I could be out in nature every day...
