Idiom of the Day:

“Come clean”

Sometimes you need to tell someone

the truth about something you did wrong. Maybe you did something secretly without your wife knowing, or you made a mistake that your employer should know about. This can range from something simple to very serious. When you confess your situation, you are “coming clean.” This will help begin the process of healing and repairing the situation.

“Yesterday I had to come clean with my college professor and explain that my assignment was not completed. Fortunately the professor said I could turn it in late for partial credit.”

partial credit..? what does it means..?

@kueri It is mostly used in a school/test setting. If an answer is almost correct the teacher may give you some but not all of the points. For example: A question is worth 10 Points but you got partial credit so you only got 6 points
