Because the second interpretation is so ridiculous, nobody expects it when the second sentence suggests that the speaker interpreted the first sentence according to the silly second Interpretation! Dogs riding bikes!

@Josh thats the point i ment, the second sentence makes it not funny for a german, it makes it worse, not funny at all sorry... I guess i got a more dark sarcasm and ironic kinda humor 😏 or maybe I just hit the germans have no humor stereotype, who knows 😞😜😁
