My mission this weekend is to finally try regular 팥빙수 and 설빙
to compare.Please let me know if I got this right.
팥 means red bean
빙 means ice
수 means water
So 팥빙수 combined refers to Korean shaved ice.
설빙 is the name of a dessert chain here which means “snow ice” and looks similar to 팥빙수 but instead of shaved ice, they use frozen milk, which makes it sweeter and creamier.
So 설빙 is not an actual dessert, it started out as just the chain store name, but people now use it to identify the milky version of the dessert?
I read that the consistency of the white crystal flakes in 설빙 is like powdery, milky, delicious snow.
It’s so HOT and humid right now. I need this.
