This story has fascinated me for years. I know a lot of people

are not aware of this. I will go one day 🤣

The Chernobyl disaster was caused by a nuclear accident that occurred on Saturday 26 April 1986, at the No. 4 reactor in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, near the city of Pripyat in the north of the Ukrainian SSR. The radiation is still just as high today. 350,000 people were evacuated as a result of the accident.

    @Noel ah yes. It’s incredibly fascinating. Shame all the families had to uproot their entire lives. Abandon everything they owned.

    There's a movie on a fictitious aftermath from this disaster. Way too scary for me!

    @Chris Schiller yes. They do tours, you travel around the area and neighbouring areas to all the abandoned homes, schools.

    @April haha yes there’s been a good few series and films about it. There are some brilliant documentaries on Chernobyl too.

    I saw the series related to this catastrophe and also googled some facts about it. And I don’t get the point why some Instagram influencers went to the spot and took pictures there to seek ppl’s attention, which is an ignorant act and bad influence on their followers.

    @Leah yeah it could be seen like that I guess. I guess people go there to to understand such disasters. It’s hard to understand, but if you’re physically there is much easier to feel the empathy’s and experience a little of what they have had to leave behind. But as for influencers, they will do anything to get limelight.

    Really interesting but quite sad. Amazon series depicts it pretty well and also gives a real insight into how long it took to seek help once the disaster occurred, and also that it was caused per lack of experience and peer pressure when running a test at #4.

    So in a case of Japan. The radiation is spread out to Korea while Japan started discharging of radioactive contaminated water in the east sea side of South Korea. And both of two govenments has been trying to make people feel safe in this serious situation.
