Phrase of the day “By all means”

We use this phrase to give

someone permission to do something.

It’s used informally and can be both spoken or written.

Here’s an example:

Debbie 🗣 “Can I borrow this book? I’ll give it back once I’ve finished”

Tony 🗣 “By all means, I don’t need it now”
