@Kei san, thank you very much for your sweet comment! Not sure about the exact tradition... But, giving 2,000 moon cake is a sign of wealth and generosity on the groom's side. The bride parents pass around the moon cakes among neighbors, friends, and families to share the announcement of the wedding of their daughter. Believe, as today, China historically, experienced a shortage of women... Grooms will have to give a plenty of gifts to in-laws before bringing the bride! Hope, this helps. 🎎💞🙏🎊🧧🌐
