This is the conclusion of my hiking trip tale a week ago. Some more flowers, including the pretty Yucca flower (#4) - and then the bird. I spotted it in a bush a little off the trail. It was beautiful bright yellow with an orange head. When I researched the bird later I found out it's a male Western Tanager, a migratory songbird that ranges all over the American and Canadian West. I could not zoom in too close, but at least I got a couple of sharp photos.

The final three images are sunset captures when I was driving the other day. There has been a wildfire raging in the Western part of the state and the smoke has been drifting east. This means we have been getting these extreme hazy and red color sunsets. I just happened to be at a good spot, so I stopped to snap a few photos. Look at that red sun! Too bad I could not get away from the power lines or they would have been even better shots.

If you are watching Euro 2020, I hope you have been enjoying the games today. What a crazy game day it has been! 14 goals in two games and the reigning world champions sensationally eliminated by Switzerland. I can't think of a crazier day in recent history. If you are a football fan and could not watch, at least look for the highlights on YouTube!
