“How do people in your country view Japanese?” a Japanese person

once asked.

“What is your impression of Koreans?” asked a Korean.

“What are your thoughts on Chinese people?” a Chinese asked.

I want to ask whomever is listening to this, “What do you think of your people or your country?”

Being Asian in American, I have first-hand experience of how non-Asians view Asians overall. And how non-Asians see Asians is not the most important thing to be honest.

I find no value nor any validation in what a random non-Asian person would think of me or Asians in general.

I think what’s more important is how you see yourselves because that’s where real value comes from.

So do you think people in your country are confident? Do they see themselves as strong? Do they consider themselves beautiful and handsome?

As a fellow Asian, I’m hoping the answers to the above questions are a resounding “Yes”.

I do agree with you. In my mind, People in China are more confident when they are becoming rich. But there are also so many person care more about someone else than themself.

@L C Although all people are equal from a legal, ethical, and philosophical point of view, there are racial dynamics present that reveal how people view each other unequally. This is evident in America, where the first people to settle in these lands were Native Americans. They aren't dominant in American society which is mainly shaped by those of European descent. Even among Asian Americans here, the top major Asian ethnic group by population is Chinese despite America's relationship with China. I think the Chinese preceded the Japanese in coming to America first, but Chinese culture is not dominant at all in America. And those with Japanese ancestry are mainly in states like Hawaii and California - places where the Japanese had a relatively extensive history.

@Jun Native American in the United States and cannot be considered an immigration。 The Irish are the first immigrants to the United States, and Asians are relatively late,Europeans are relatively early. In short, not occupy a dominant cultural status, This is considered a national minority , I think the current state is very normal. The United States is considered to be a great country . a smaller version of the UN,the overall national without substantial conflicts, is not easy. If The Orientals dominated American culture, Perhaps, not the current United States. Oriental culture is not Open and inclusive in certain aspects.

@Jun The land area of mainland China and the United States is similar. Since the ancient times, Chinese has not controlled the history of other nations.Regardless of culture or other forms For example, Buddhism in China, Chinese Buddhists or monks who have not gone to preach, only learn from others. this is our culture. anyway, As a Chinese native, I don't have the same agony as you.
