🎇🇬🇧UK History - 5th November - Guy Fawkes Night🇬🇧🎆

📢 “Remember

, remember the 5th of November, Gunpowder, treason and plot” 📢

Guy Fawkes was born in York, England back in 1570, and was a notorious figure who had plans to destroy the Houses Of Parliament with explosives back in 1605. He was captured and executed for his crime in a ghastly way.

To this day, the UK still burn an effigy of Guy on a bonfire, but over time the night has evolved and now is more better known as “Bonfire Night/Fireworks Night”, and is an event for the family to watch fireworks, and hold sparklers for entertainment.

That would be really nice if there is no virus and no lockdown. Will there be any bonfire display or fireworks tonight?´͈ ᵕ `͈

@Rena Unfortunately large events have been cancelled, but you may still see some fireworks with families still choosing to celebrate it

@天泽 Cool. Then why do you think it's memorable till nowadays?

@Allie why is anything still memorable, I’m not sure, it’s just become part of a tradition I guess over time, and morphed into something that’s more acceptable publicly so it’s still celebrated today. It is a weird one though, definitely haha
