You may have noticed that in English, many
adjectives end with a “y”, such as pretty, funny, shiny, etc. Because of this, Americans often create adjectives by adding a y. This is a very informal rule, and the words “created” aren’t added to the dictionary or anything. We more so use it to describe something that we feel like doesn’t have a good adjective. (Keep in mind that the y is pronounced like an e, and that this is used in informal situations) Examples:
There are certain beaches that have a lot of sharks. Therefore, I may create the adjective “sharky” to describe such a place. For example, “I don’t wanna swim here, it’s way too sharky.” (Pronounced like shark-e)
