I’ve noticed recently whenever someone has an issue at work, many people respond by saying it’s best to seek a job that makes you happy.
When I was working, most people didn’t have the luxury of finding a job that made them happy. Most people went to work simply to earn money and didn’t necessarily expect it to be an emotionally fulfilling experience. Fun was generally reserved for the weekend away from work.
I suppose this is a sign of economic progress. People now have the luxury to choose a job based on how happy it will make them rather than strictly based on economic considerations.
Do I sound like a bit of an old geezer to you?
