Idiom of the Day
“Pulling rank”
When you “pull rank,” you are
using your authority or using your superior position to overtake someone else’s position. Maybe you are a manager, and you must “pull rank” on an employee who maybe is not doing their job properly. You take over the task and give them a secondary task instead. Sometimes we can joke and “pull rank” and get a bigger slice of cake or move ahead in line. But in general, it is usually not a good idea to “pull rank” unless it is necessary. https://www.forbes.com/sites/rodgerdeanduncan/2016/06/27/5-things-to-do-if-youre-tempted-to-pull-rank/amp/
