(H)ola!

In Spanish “hola” is one of the most basic words used

to greet someone, it also sounds just like the word “ola” which translates to the English word “wave”. 🌊

Funnily enough, in English the verb/gesture “to wave” (at someone) is also a very common way to greet somebody and say hello👋🏼:^)

How cool that in both languages the word for “🌊” is coincidently related in different ways to the concept of greeting someone!

The verb/gesture "to wave" (at someone) is something people say or we are talking about the movement with hands. I dont know if its an action o something that we can say as Hi/hello. Could you give an example with that verb?

@Matty Zeke Hogas Hi there! Sí, el verbo “to wave” significa agitar la mano, así que es un verbo que describe una acción Por ejemplo... Maria *waved* at friend best friend Holly and gave her a big hug
