I just saw Keiki’s post of a spring flower. I was reminded of
driving with friends on a rural road on Vashon Island this past weekend. It’s one of the many beautiful forested islands in the large waterway that creates the port of Seattle and leads out to the Pacific Ocean. These islands are all reached by short ferry rides, and are now prized “suburbs” of Seattle. As we rounded a corner I saw the first real sign of spring with this magnificent tree in full bloom.
