English learners - English native speakers are NOT always correct

when they’re correcting your text AND sometimes they make mistakes (even myself)

English “teachers” - while it may feel nice to “correct” a fellow English speaker, please be sure you’re giving the right advice so that YOU do not confuse the English learner (and also if I go onto your profile and I can clearly see you aren’t a native English speaker - don’t correct me mkay?)

My favourite is people giving out the worst corrections then you go on their profile and they are like "i have been teaching english for 5 years" 🙅🙅🙅

👏🏼👏🏼 Thanks for saying this (and for explaining present perfect tense 🙃). My personal peeve with English teachers on here is when they correct English learners based on how they would personally say it – especially if there was nothing to correct, rather than basing it on rules of grammar.

@Gio 지오 thank you! I do love how you said “it may not be your personal word preference” 👌🏻 😂 Much respect from one grammar rule follower to another 🙇🏻‍♀️

I agree... When I started to teach spanish I had to do lots of research on questions my students would bring because I wouldn't know why was it that way~ Learning never stops 👍🍵
