Hey everyone! I know that this
is supeerrrr late but I got so busy after the semester started! My college class started as well as high school grades restarting. My college class has been such an amazing experience so far. As some of you know, I did my group presentation on creation myths (including the Chinese myth of Pangu). I think it went well but I haven’t gotten the grade yet. I love my professor, he’s so passionate and it makes learning the material so easy. I’m so glad I decided to take the class. It also means that I have access to the college facilities, even though I am in high school. It’s just a whole different world!
As for school, I’ve been trying to stay on top of things. Pictured below is a site that I’m using for my college search (which is connected to my college counselor so he can recommend colleges). Those are some of the colleges that I’ve been interested in. I think my top target schools are Saint Mary’s College (private all-girls college), Chestnut Hill College and Bard College. Just so you know, target schools are schools that are realistic to get into. Reach schools are harder/unlikely to get into and safety schools have very likely acceptances. It’s all carried through a GPA, SAT/ACT/SAT II scores, extracurriculars (which includes extra classes), AP/Honors/College classes, etc.
Also pictured are some of my history notes as well as the beginning of my test prep since I have a quiz on Wednesday! Our classes are like college in the way that we take our own notes on lectures rather than reading from a textbook. Really difficult to do and I’ve been doing it since I was young. It becomes a problem when I need help and I don’t have a textbook to refer to😂.
And then there’s me, while studying (doing homework) and looking through colleges. The college application/search process here is really long and extensive. Very stressful.
