Idiom of the Day
“Fall off the wagon”
If you have “fallen off
the wagon,” you have given up on an endeavor that takes time to master. In most cases, this will be associated with addictive behavior like an alcoholic giving up on sobriety and going back to drinking. But, you can also “fall off the wagon” when trying to get a degree from a university, learning English as a foreign language, or reducing your shopping to maintain a proper budget. Anytime you quit working on anything that takes a lot of time and effort, you have “fallen off the wagon.”Download the HelloTalk app to join the conversation.
