still bring snow.

I wanted to go skiing on Sunday, but with the warm weather and no fresh snow for a week, I gave up on the idea and chose a place to go hiking instead. It's a local trail that I had hiked just once before. I forgot how steep it is and I was surprised by the amount of ice and snow and plenty of mud on the trail. I guess the warm temperatures fooled me, it was 22°C, but if you look at the photos you couldn't really tell! 😂

I did ok, but it took me a lot longer than expected to cover the just over 8 km because I had to go slowly in those slippery spots. The trail descends down a small canyon to a creek and a lot of it is sheltered from the sun. There are some ledges and steep sections. It's a lot of wilderness and most of the time I was alone just listening to the water flowing (mostly) below the ice and the occasional bird chirping.

It was a good workout and it gave me satisfaction for another week of sitting around and working. ⌨🖱
