There are used in the same way:
to make something stronger. So (synonym for very):
The film was very good
The film was so good
That food is very delicious
That food is so delicious
The "so" goes before the adjective
subject (noun) + verb 'be' + so + adjective
Such (makes the expanded noun phrase (adjective + noun) stronger)
It was such a good film
See how the adjective and noun are next to each other.
That is such delicious food
