“Chatted”

首先这个词 “chatted” 是正确的，

可是在日常交流中很多本地人不会用（其实我从来没有听到有人说过这个话... 有可能吧），比如： “i chatted with my mum”，我们会说 “i spoke with my mum” 或 “I had a chat with my mum”，当你听到很多本地人用英语说话的时候，会发现这个词不经常用的，因此我推荐一下你们小心翼翼地看到语境，培养合适的语感，总之我建议一下你们用别的话：spoke with, had a chat with, talked to, 等等。

“I play my phone” ✘

必须加上 “on”，在这儿“on” 是个介词，用来表示一个器件或机器（比如：手机，电脑等）， 像 “use” 一样相似的意义，要看语境，也能说 “use”。

My favourite movie will be on tonight. （不能用 “use”）✔
今晚我最爱的电影会上映。

She has been on the computer all morning. （能用 “use”）✔
她整个早上用电脑了。

She has been using the computer all morning. ✔

A: What are you doing?
A: 你在做什么？
B: I'm just on my phone, and you? ✔
B: 我只是在玩儿手机，你呢？

那我什么时候能说“play”呢？“play” 表示为了娱乐或享受你参加一个活动，因此我们能说 “I'm playing music”（音乐是个活动），可是不能说 “I'm playing phone” （手机不是个活动），应该是说 “I'm playing on my phone”。

She is playing games on her phone. ✔
她在玩儿手机游戏。

She plays basketball. ✔
她经常打篮球。

She plays with her friends. ✔
她跟她的朋友一起在玩儿。
