きょうはゆきがふっているので、きのうはそとにでられてよかったです。- It is snowing today and I
am glad I was able to be outside yesterday. ❄Yesterday, I started posting about my visit to a local lake. Here's where my story continues:
The trees in this park alone are great subjects for photography. I found the snow on the ground to be a great contrast to the water and the rather dark vegetation at this time of year.
In addition to the magnificent bald eagles, there is another bird in great abundance that is just fun to photograph: The American White Pelican.
Pelicans winter in the Gulf of Mexico and return to Colorado to nest in early March. They offer constant action as they fly low above the water or congregate in groups.
Photo #6 is a good illustration of what it's like. You can see many pelicans and three eagles.
Photo #7 shows the eagle's nest. It is zoomed in the max. The area is off limits to people, so as not to disturb the eagles.
I tried to capture an eagle in flight. Photo #8 is probably my best attempt head on. It is really hard because they are fast and difficult to track with the camera.
There will be more. I have material for at least two more posts. That's how productive that day was in terms of photography.
I hope I am not boring you with this... 😄
