Idiom of the Day
“In high gear”
When you are “in high gear
,” it means that you are working at a fast pace. It can also mean you are getting a lot done at once (for you multi-taskers out there). Yesterday I got the internet repaired, hung up curtains, moved a heavy China cabinet, started a proposal at school, collected data for that proposal, unpacked several boxes, set up the TV and speakers, and made essential purchases for my new house. I was in high gear all day yesterday.
