    1. How old are you? 24. Born in 1996.

    2. Where are you from? Born in Australia. Living in Brisbane. My parents are Chinese. I have never studied in China. My parent's hometown is 广州, so I can speak both Cantonese and Mandarin semi fluently

    3. Are you a student? Currently no. That may change soon. What is your major? Occupational Therapy. It's about changing a person's environment, building up on their skills and altering the things they do to improve their current outcomes in life (anything we do is considered an occupation).

    4. What is your job? In 2020 I had a job called Positive Behaviour Support. It is unrelated to my university major. It's about reducing the challenging behaviours of people, mostly with intellectual disabilities. I worked with their carers and other stakeholders. No, it's not psychology. If I was a psychologist, I would say that instead

    6. Why are you learning Chinese? I think it's fun. It's a skill that wasn't completely learned growing up, but I wanted to finish it. That's the reason on the surface. When you get to know me more, I'll tell you the real reason hahahaha

    7. How long have you been learning Chinese? I started learning Mandarin in 2003 and learnt until 2013. This was at an academy on Saturdays from 9-12 during school terms (40 weeks a year or so) and it was really boring and off-putting. I don't like talking or thinking about that time. I started to pick it up again around early 2020, hence started using Hellotalk around that time too

    8. I want to practise my spoken English. Cool! It seems like EVERY Chinese person on this platform feels the same way. Sorry but this is not original. I have heard this from most if not all Chinese people I've spoken to here.

    9. How is covid-19 in your country? It's getting better. We are progressively getting times where we can freely go outside without even needing to socially distance! But every now and then, somebody gets sick and we all go back into lockdown. It's tight, but generally getting a lot better 😊

    @Isabella I always reply people and answer their questions. I don't have a bad attitude. Everyone says I should just ignore people who are boring here, but I always reply everyone, even if it's one of these questions above. Sorry if I offended you in any way

    @Isabella He’s already “put it another way”, he answered those common boring questions in this post, so people who wanna talk with him will know him better and make more interesting conversation before they send the creepy wave hand. Tbh, Jacky is literally one of the most considerate guys in HT. Pls don’t judge without knowing him.

    @Isabella If he said those things on his first day here, I would probably say that he is a 拽哥. But he has been here for a long time and asking him to be patient with everyone who is asking the same boring questions is not realistic. I don't know how long you have been here. But if you are patient with everyone who asks you the same questions for 3 months, you are also very 拽.

    dont people ask ‘boring questions’ because they are still learning a language?? I ask my chinese friends these questions because i am still learning and dont know any other way to communicate

    @Mike I think it's fine because we're bound to be curious about regular things like age, occupation and nationality. It can just get repetitive if you have to repeat it that many times. Oddly enough, it's the odd conversations that happen to stick. My Korean and Japanese are both poopy so I don't have the ability to speak much more than the regular, so I fully understand this "no boring questions" request can be quite unrealistic... but yeah, just wanting to maybe reduce some of those kinds of questions, that's all
