After I arrived in China many moons ago for the beginning of

a new chapter in my life, I never imagined that in my early thirties I’d still be here. There are times when I do feel homesick, miss my family, friends and aspects of life in England, that’s natural. However, China has been so welcoming to me. I’ve grown from a boy to a man that looks like a boy. I’ve experienced a rich, enduring culture and made friendships for life. Some people stay, some people go but the bonds we formed last forever. I’ve forged a career as a teacher, which is also something I could never have imagined. It’s job that I’m grateful for as I can leave an indelibly positive mark on people’s lives while also learning more about many elements of this country. It’s been a crazy week for me but I’ll officially be here for another two years. Who knows what the future holds but, for now, I’m truly grateful. Thank you China and everyone that has blessed my life during my time here. The journey continues. P.S. What happened to the 小鲜肉 in the first photo?
