“Clean slate”

Any new start to your life is

a “clean slate.” If you are starting all over, whether that is a new business, a new religion, a new relationship, etc, we will say we are starting with a “clean slate.” You are putting past experiences behind you and not allowing them to effect your new endeavor. This is your second (or third, or fourth) attempt at a new experience or situation. It is just like erasing all of the chalk from the chalk board.
