Ok, maybe not so secret, but I

started calling it that a long time ago and I am sticking with it 😀. It is tucked behind the house, enclosed by a high fence, so it is kind of hidden. I had to put up a screen because it is facing the west and the afternoons in the summer were brutal there. It was completely barren when I moved here and I slowly kept adding plants over the years. I am no way an accomplished gardener, more like a total amateur, but I like being creative and it is a corner where I can relax. For flowers, I like potted plants, so I always go out and buy some for the summer to add a little color.

There is a bush of wax currant growing naturally, it produces these bright red edible berries. I planted a bunch of lilac bushes and a buffaloberry tree that has grown just huge! I have had less success with evergreens on this side of the house, but two still survive. I let my cat out on occasional outings. 🐱
