Elk invasion in the

neighborhood! 🤣

I shot this is series a couple of weeks ago. A herd of elk came to relax in the meadow, and I had a prime view. At this time of year, the herds include a lot of calves, born just a few weeks ago. The mothers keep close watch as the babies romp around. The male elk stay away in their own groups until fall.

The grown elk have no trouble jumping fences and the calves follow suit. They bedded down in the neighbor's yard for a nap. The herd was about 40 animals, they were all over, so I could not even capture them all in one picture.

There was a mule deer buck that came to check out the commotion as well. 🦌

It was a nice treat for sure. They sometimes don't show up for weeks, sometimes only come by after dark, you just never know... 🤠
