I find it very helpful when people fill out their profile with

a biography and at least one moment. Do what makes you feel comfortable but including information about your hobbies and learning goals is extremely important, in my opinion.

If someone has a HelloTalk account for months and hasn’t filled it out, I probably won’t respond. This is for a few reasons. I see it as low effort, and secondly, I see it as a potential BOT. If you’ve had a profile for years and it’s empty, I’m even more suspicious. 😂

If you’re not getting messages from people, maybe it’s because you didn’t fill out your profile.
