Do not try to get an English or American

I couldn't agree more. We Japanese tend to pronounce English words like an English or American does but as you are saying, speaking clearly and also clear sentences matters, I believe.

That sounds great but who knows if his or her pronunciation is correct without knowing what English and American pronunciate. We try to copy what they pronunciate but it is very difficult to imitate.

I think pronouncing words correctly is not enough when learners don't apply intonations, melody, etc. You all native speakers will hear learners talking like robots. 🤦‍♀️
