Idiom — “In the nick of time…”
This is a useful idiom that means
— at the very last minute OR right in time. ✔️Examples
•On my way to work, there was a woman who fainted on the bus. The ambulance arrived right in the nick of time. If they would have arrived even a minute later, there is a chance she wouldn’t have survived.
•Because of this incident, I showed up to my meeting right in the nick of time. I didn’t have any time to look over my notes and was called on first to present my part. That was stressful.
•After work, I had such a huge headache. Fortunately, I made it to the pharmacy right in the nick of time. The worker was already starting to lock the doors, but he was kind enough to let me in because I told him I knew exactly what I needed.
(Normally, you would not use the same phrase over and over like this in the same story when you write. I just thought it would be fun to do this here. ☺️)
