무서워하다 - to be scared
무서운 - scary ← is this the same as 무서워?

If something is scary you say 무서워요?
if you're scared of something you say 무서워해요 ?
can someone give me example sentences with the differences please !

Well...so hard to explain. ... I don't know if it's correct or not. In my opinion as a korean, 1. 호랑이가 무섭다 Tiger is scary. 2. (나는) 호랑이가 무섭다<무서워(Speaking)> = (나는) 호랑이를 무서워하다(무서워한다)<무서워해요(Speaking)> I'm scared of tiger. 3. 무서운 호랑이가 내 앞에 있다. A scary tiger is in front of me.

@ry 저는 귀신을 무서워해요. I am scared of ghost. Many Korean verbs are same meaning with 'be + adjective'. For example. 따뜻한 커피. ㅡ Warm coffee. 날씨가 따뜻하다 ㅡ It is warm.
