私もスキーヤーのなかま-いりをしたいとおもいました! - I wanted to join the skiers! ⛷

As I wrote previously, I will share more in-depth parts of my just completed road trip over the next few days and probably weeks...

Today's post is just about the beginning of the trip. We left in the morning and as we came up towards the mountain pass I saw the fresh snow and the clouds still swirling around the peaks and decided to take a detour over the pass (you can just pass under it by driving through a tunnel, but what's the fun in that?). In the second photo, you can see the highway below and the pass road winding its way up.

We stopped a few times along the way and then of course on the pass where a beautiful sight unfolded with the sun shining through the clouds illuminating the mountains covered in white. I wanted to stay longer because the picture was constantly changing as the clouds were moving and changing shape, but we could only take it in for a while.

There is a ski area just below the pass and you could watch the skiers and boarders having fun (#7). One guy was coming down the mountain high up (#8). This is well off the ski area and he must have hiked in a long way to get some undisturbed snow to ski down on.

The last photo is just to capture the amazing sky over the peaks in the distance.

Next time (in this photo series) we will be in a very different landscape as we reach the western part of the state. Stay tuned... 😎
