Good morning, everyone. I thought today I’d talk about kittens
. All these beautiful cats are (or used to be) kittens that have been through my mother’s cat rescue. These cats have all been rescued through kitten season. Essentially, when it gets really hot, female cats go into heat, starting a wave of new kittens; hence, kitten season. Since I am from Texas, it is always hot, and as a result we have many kitten seasons. The best thing we can do is rescue the mom and kittens, fix the mother (the verb for male cats is to spay), and then release them. The sad thing is, most kittens need to be taken away from their mother if they want to be adoptable. There are many cats in Texas, and many times, it feels as if you’re trying to go against the inevitable, but each of these cats eventually move to a person’s home and become life long friends, and if that’s not a tangible difference, I don’t know what is.Download the HelloTalk app to join the conversation.
