Here are a few impressions from my little hike today. It was just a gorgeous day, blue skies and not too cold. I was actually sweating in my winter jacket, I thought it's going to be colder. 🌡

Last time I drove there was in May to watch the sunset and take pictures of the first spring flowers. I shared the photos here, so maybe some of this will look familiar to you.

Visibility was pretty good and I was able to photograph the mountains with the afternoon sun pretty low. The views to the east where the city is located below were not quite as good. There was a layer of smog above the plains. However, you can see nicely how flat it gets looking east as far as the eye can see. Very boring... 😄

I found a feather that someone left on a rock with some beads attached. An offering perhaps? 🧐

I was looking out for birds, but it was mostly quiet. At one point I spotted a large bird of prey from a distance, but it took off before I could get closer. One day, I'd like to find an owl in the wild and get the chance to take pictures. Owls are special.

On my way back I came upon a small group of deer. I waited quietly until they moved to a spot where the last rays of the sun reached them. I am happy with the shot. Looks like a mother with her young offspring. 🦌
