phrase is “that hit the spot” this phrase is used when something was really good and you got just what you needed. The phrase is probably most commonly used when talking about food or drinks.

For example:
John: wow this pasta was delicious!
Sarah: yeah it really hit the spot, I’m glad we decided to eat here.
