    Kyoto people's conversation is euphemistic,

In Kyoto, people's conversations are euphemistic,

    Osaka them are straight.

but in Osaka they are straightforward.

@samuel I would be very confused by that! What are some more Kyoto euphemisms?

@Josh For example, neighbor says, "Your daughter's piano playing is cheerful recently." Can you undestand the true meaning?

@samuel that her piano playing was bad before?

@samuel I’ve heard of this from a YouTube channel. Tbh, it’s a bit rude to me, as they are being so indirect that it’s coming across as snarky, two faced and sarcastic.

@samuel I visited both places and I thought the buildings in Kyoto were beautiful, but people in Osaka were so kind! I had the most fun there.

@Michael It’s rude to be direct in Japanese culture, but I do get what you mean. I’m not used to ambiguous language myself.

@Richard Lowe it’s rude to be too direct in British culture too. But this way is too much.

@Michael That’s good to know in case I end up visiting 😂. Of course we don’t try to hurt eachother’s feeling, but I never heard anybody say something like “wow that was too direct.”

@Richard Lowe If you’re too direct here, people won’t correct you, but they may be uncomfortable or will try not to talk with you unless necessary. Of course, there’s people who prefer to be direct and blunt though.
