Deal (deel) has a number of meanings.

1) distribute in orderly rotation for a game or round
2) take part in commercial trading of a particular commodity
3) to be concerned with or about something particular
4) to treat someone/something in a particular way
5) to take action with the intention of putting something right
6) inflict/deliver something on to something else

All of these purposes above are very commonly used for the word “deal”
