American Phrase Post
In America we may use the phrase “sound
like a broken record.” This phrase means that the person is repeating themselves. When a record is broken, it may just keep on repeating the same bit of music over and over again, so that’s where the phrase comes from. It can be used in casual and formal situations, and it is not really considered slang, more of an expression or phrase. Example Sentences:
“You’ve said that so many times, you sound like a broken record.”
“Not to sound like a broken record, but we will have to talk about this issue again.”
“I’ve said this so many times, I’m starting to sound like a broken record.”
Hope that this helps and let me know if you have any questions :)
