1️⃣分享一个特别好用的谚语
“ It's the thought that counts ”
意思是:心意到就好了
比

如有人帮你做了一件小事情
虽不是什么很大的帮助可是表达了心意。
或者别人送了你一个小礼物
虽然你用不到但是心意到了
类似于 “礼轻情意重”这样的用法

Eg.
I know the gift he gave you for your wedding is not worth much, but I hope you'll understand it's the thought that counts.

我知道他送你的结婚礼物不那么值钱，不过礼轻情意重啊！

Eg.
Alice: I couldn't make it to your recital because my car wouldn't start, but I really wanted to be there.

John: It’s alright. After all, It’s the thought that counts.

介绍一个特别的词汇 “gang up”

gang 的意思是 “一伙”
gangster 通常指的都不是好人
比方说形容一群流氓
The gang are being hunted by the police.

但是作为动词
gang 几乎总是以词组 gang up on (someone) 的形式出现
意思很好理解就是“合伙对付 (某人)”
别担心
你和别人 gang up 不代表你是一个流氓。。。
在和朋友玩闹的时候也可以用的
或者合伙对付一个坏蛋也是可以的
恰当的用法如下：

Eg：
The older children were always ganging up on the little ones.
年龄大的孩子经常结伙欺负小孩子。
