In case you are new to HelloTalk,
these are several important
buttons you should be using! Translation
Hold any message or post and select “Translate”, if you need a little help understanding it. Note, machine translation can be imprecise, yet oftentimes helpful.
Pronunciation (Speak)
Hold any written message or post and select “Speak”, to hear it. Note, machine pronunciation can be imprecise, yet sometimes helpful.
Transliteration
Hold any message or post and select “Transliteration”. This might or might not be helpful with languages like Russian or Chinese.
Correction
Hold a message or post and select “Correction”, to help others with grammar or vocabulary. Remember that it can be as useful as it can be discouraging, so don’t overdo it;)
Favorite
Hold a message and select “Favorite”, to save it to your Favorites board for further review. It can be useful if you would like to revisit something at a later time.
Introduce
In an individual or group chat, click “+” and select “Introduce”, to share a profile that your partners might enjoy following.
Follow
Click “Follow” to subscribe to a profile, to make sure you always see your friends’ & mentors’ new posts.
Voice Call
In a group chat, click “+” and “Voice Call”, to start a group voice conversation. It might be a good idea to check with the Administrator of the group if that’s ok. Also, consider scheduling it a little in advance to give people time to join.

Next to any post, including your own, click the ellipsis “...”, to Share it with a HelloTalk friend or group.
You can also Upvote the post to be featured and shown to more people. You can Save it to Favorites. Or you can Report it for violence, nudity etc, and keep our learning environment safe.
